This week we begin our curriculum. Our first theme is "Welcome to School." We will be talking about feelings, how to get along, share, and be a super friend. In handwriting, we will begin learning the proper way of writing letters and cheer our friends' names. We will also learn about each other by having show-and-tell with the stars made for Open House.
I will begin assessing the students toward the end of the week. This will take about three weeks. This, along with other observations and sample work, will be the topics for the first parent/teacher conferences in October.
We will be going to the library every Thursday! We are excited to have this as a weekly activity and look forward to having Mrs. Poole read to the students.
Picture Days are Wednesday and Thursday of this week. If your child does not attend on Wednesday, then he/she will take a picture on Thursday. Please turn in your white envelope by Tuesday.
Just a reminder…there is no school on Labor Day, September 1st.
